Binding Authority Reinstated

Effective immediately, Binding Authority has been reinstated for wind business for Personal Lines, Commercial Lines, and Builders Risk in Florida, Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi.

The following Florida restrictions will remain in place:

Homeowners (all products):

  • Year of construction restricted to 10 years and newer
  • All risks within 2 miles of the coast must exclude wind coverage
  • The following counties will remain closed for wind coverage: Orange, Seminole, Bay, Broward, Escambia, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Palm Beach, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, and Walton

Commercial (Business Owners Policy, Preferred Office Policy, Mobile Home Park, Homeowners Association, Commercial Residential including E&S):

  • All risks within 2 miles of the coast must exclude wind coverage
  • Palm Beach County within 5 miles of the coast must exclude wind coverage
  • The following counties will remain closed for wind coverage: Bay, Broward, Escambia, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Okaloosa, Santa

 


Any application that was uploaded on/after October 5, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. Eastern will be effective the date binding authority is reopened. Applications for new business or endorsements for increased coverage may now be bound, written and issued.
